MOCKTAIL:
OPTIONAL GARNISHES:

Instructions

  1. Fill a 16 ounce copper mug with ice cubes. Then add cranberry juice, Cranberry Simple Syrup, lime juice, club soda, and ginger beer, and stir to combine.
  2. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, a few fresh cranberries, and a copper cocktail pick with candied ginger (all optional). Serve immediately with a copper straw, and enjoy!

Notes

  1. I used Trader Joe’s low calorie cranberry juice cocktail in this recipe. You can also use a light cranberry juice cocktail. If using the original cranberry juice cocktail, you may want to reduce the amount of simple syrup used in this drink to keep it from tasting too sugary. You can use ½ ounce Cranberry Simple Syrup instead of 1 ounce.
  2. I prefer using Fever-Tree ginger beer for this mocktail recipe, as it has a pure ginger flavor that compliments all the other ingredients in this non-alcoholic beverage.
  3. Makes one 10 ounce serving (16 ounces including ice).

Cranberry Simple Syrup

Cranberry Simple Syrup is and integral ingredient in this mocktail recipe. Although you will only need a small amount, it really makes this drink special. It’s easy to make, and can definitely be made ahead.

STEP 1

Fill a 16 ounce copper mug with ice cubes. Then add 2 ounces cranberry juice cocktail (see Note below), 1 ounce Cranberry Simple Syrup, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 1 ounce club soda, and 4 ounces ginger beer, and stir to combine.

How to Make a Non-Alcoholic Cranberry Moscow Mule Mocktail!

Blog Comments & Tips

A refreshingly festive holiday drink!

This Cranberry Moscow Mule Mocktail is a deliciously refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, and is perfect for the holiday season. Served in a festive copper mug, this tasty drink is something the entire family can enjoy!

Although I love ginger, I’m not the biggest fan of ginger beer. When developing this recipe, my goal was to find just the right balance of ginger and cranberry flavors. The first few attempts were too gingery, and this final recipe has just the right amount of ginger and cranberry, and it’s not overly sweet or overly sharp. Even those that are not fans of ginger beer should give this recipe a try!

How do you ensure the best results from this recipe?

My 5 tips to making a good panini:

  1. For the cranberry juice cocktail, I prefer using a low calorie, or 100% juice version for this recipe. I find the original cranberry juice cocktail is too sweet, and overpowers the ginger flavor.

  2. For the best and most pure ginger flavor, use Fever-Tree ginger beer for this mocktail recipe.

  3. Don’t skip the Cranberry Simple Syrup! It adds a wonderful cranberry flavor, without making this drink cloyingly sweet.

  4. Although you can use a rocks glass, these 16 ounce copper mugs make this drink feel even more special.

  5. Even if you don’t add any of the other garnishes, I highly recommend using a sprig of fresh mint. Slap it on the palm of your hand just before you add it to the drink. The fresh minty aroma is lovely when you take your first few sips!

It’s time to customize and Pimp My Recipe.

Pimp My Recipe:

  • Make it with Fall Flavors: For an extra fall flavored drink, substitute the cranberry juice with cranberry apple juice.

  • Make it Healthier: For a delicious and healthier option, you can also use cranberry juice - 100% juice blend with no added sugars. Then omit the simple syrup from the recipe. It will be more tart, but still very tasty!
